Mercredi 18 novembre, nous avons rencontré Youssef Chiheb, auteur du Manifeste de l’indépendance du Maroc.

M Chiheb enseigne à la Sorbonne et est un spécialiste de géopolitique du monde arabe et de l’histoire du Maroc.

Dans son ouvrage, l’auteur raconte chronologie des événements qui ont amené aujourd’hui à l’indépendance du Maroc.

L’affranchissement du Maroc

30 mars 1912, la France exerce la tutelle du Maroc en instaurant un protectorat sur l’Empire chérifien.

30 ans après, 67 marocains prennent le risque nécessaire de réclamer la fin du protectorat ainsi que l’indépendance du royaume.

Le 11 janvier 1944 marque la formalisation du manifeste qui formalise les prises de positions indépendantistes.

1956, le Maroc est finalement affranchi, date qui marquera un renouveau du pays ainsi que le retour du souverain Sidi Mohammed Ben Youssef.

Un devoir de mémoire

Dans son œuvre, M Chiheb relate de l’histoire de ce bouleversement de régime et rend hommage à ses oncles ayant succombé pendant cette période.

Selon lui, les événements historiques sont souvent méconnus des jeunes issus de l’immigration Marocaine. 

Youssef Chiheb tient à leur inculquer les grands récits qui ont marqué à jamais l’histoire et l’avenir du Maroc.
